BlueBioTech not only produces and markets micro algae, particularly for human nourishment, but also for the fields of aquaristics, cosmetics and medicine. A self-developed technology, draw upon by BlueBioTech’s biologists, chemists and physicists in determining the micro algae’s ideal living conditions, is concealed behind the production. In Büsum at the North Sea, our station for breeding and exploration, our professionals optimize the living environment of aquatic plants and test the cultivation of different types of algae with natural resources for various fields of application.

The production facility’s capacity in Büsum alone isn’t able to fulfill the great market demands. Therefore, BlueBioTech produces large quantities of Spirulina and Chlorella (the names of the most important micro algae species) within the framework of a joint venture in China. “The climatic conditions at the certified algae farm are excellent. The water, in which the algae grow, comes from a depth of 120 meters. It can’t be any purer!”

Long years of testing have enabled BlueBioTech to hit upon optimal growth requirements, in which algae thrives and prospers. Beyond that, we are able to identify the optimal harvesting moment, when algae is in its “best form”, i.e. when the algae contains the richest level of vital substances. An immediate, gentle spray drying and processing is of the utmost importance. It is understood that every single stage of production is accompanied by strict quality supervision.
